Equipment Insurance

Business insurance protects what sits inside the premises. The trouble is that much of a company’s value spends the day outside them: the machine that goes to the site, the laptop that goes to the client, the tool that lives in the van, the leased equipment the company answers for. None of that is normally covered by an ordinary property policy. Equipment insurance follows the asset wherever it goes — in transit, in the field or on site — and is issued with a schedule of items and the sum insured for each one.

Frequently asked questions
Can equipment leased from a third party be insured?
Yes. Leased equipment often comes with a contractual insurance requirement, and the policy can be issued in the name of whoever is responsible for the asset.
Does it cover equipment in transit?
It can, provided transit coverage is contracted. We confirm this point before issuance.
How does it differ from business insurance?
Business insurance protects the premises and what is inside them. Equipment insurance follows the asset wherever it goes, including to a site or into the field.
